Our Dental Office is Proudly Accepting Patients Under the CDCP

What the CDCP is and Who is Eligible

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a government-funded program that provides coverage for dental services to eligible Canadians. By offsetting the high costs of dental treatments, Canadians can achieve and maintain their oral health. To be eligible for this program, which has been rolling out in phases since 2023, individuals must be Canadian residents, must not have dental insurance coverage, have an adjusted family net income of $90,000 or less, and have filed their tax return for the previous year.
How Much is Covered Depends on Your Family Income

The CDCP Pays For a Portion of the Following Services

Itโ€™s important to remember that the CDCP may not pay the full amount, therefore, patients will still have to pay out-of-pocket costs. Some services will also require pre-authorization which will begin in November 2024. More information on co-payments, additional charges, and how much the CDCP will cover is outlined on the Government of Canada website. The following services that will be covered include:

Preventative Services

  • Dental exams (including emergency exams)
  • X-rays
  • Cleaning and scaling
  • Fluoride treatment

Basic Services

  • Temporary and permanent fillings
  • Root canal treatment
  • Pain controlย
  • Cleaning under gumline
  • Abscess treatment
  • Non-surgical gum disease treatment

Major Services

  • Posts and removal of posts
  • Crowns and crown repair
  • Complete and partial dentures
  • Removal of teeth
  • Removal of tumours or cysts

Anesthesia & Sedation Services

  • Minimal sedation
  • Moderate sedation
  • Deep sedation
  • General anesthesia

Some orthodontic services will be listed in 2025. The dentist will discuss which services require pre-authorization beforehand and can go into detail about which treatments are recommended so you can make a well-informed decision, therefore, you can be assured knowing that our team will never proceed with treatment before running it by you first. We want to remain as open and honest as possible.
